@Regranned from @unifiedmissions – As a nonprofit, UMF is not only dedicated to recusing and rehabilitating victims of sex trafficking, but also educating the (community, World, individuals) on the causes and effects of sex trafficking. Sex Trafficking is a direct result of Human trafficking. Individuals or groups of people (including men), are brought over from other countries under the misconception that they were going to make a better life for themselves and/or their families. However, once they are here they are burdened with an unimaginable debt to the person that transported them. In most cases, they are abused physically, mentally, emotionally, then sold to the highest bidder for whatever services are requested. Majority of those request are sexual based. According to Dallas Morning News and NBC News Texas ranks 2nd in human trafficking cases, following closely behind the State of California. With Texas being a border state this problem is only expected to grow if people are not willing to step up and stand up to help these victims see a better future. Today, January 11, is National Human Trafficking Day. Please help us make a difference in the lives of these unfortunate souls. Join our fight.
