Veggy Ch’ti Burger

It’s a vegetarian burger served with baked potatoes. Ch’ti is an affectionate name for the people living up in the Northern regions of France. I added slices of Maroilles. Maroille is a special cheese from the North of France. You can eat this cheese on bread like any cheese or you can add it to your cooking. There are many recipes with Maroilles. For this burger I put ketchup on the bread, added the cheese slices, the veggy steak I fried before in a pan, some onion rings and again cheese. The Maroilles adds a spicy taste. Don’t be offended by the slightly harsh odour though.

C’est le burger des Ch’tis ! Vous avez deviné la raison ? Maroilles. J’ai mis du ketchup, puis du Maroilles sur le pain. J’ai fait cuire les steaks végétariens à la poêle avant de les ajouter et aussi des oignons crus. Le tout est servi avec des rostis (on les trouve en surgelé à côté des frites).

Ein Ch’ti Burger. Ch’ti werden die Leute aus Nordfrankreich genannt. Der bekannteste Käse dort heißt Maroilles. Der gibt dem Burger einen ganz besonderen Geschmack. Sich nur nicht über den starken Geruch aufregen. Burgerbrötchen mit Ketchup bestreichen, Käsescheiben drauf, in der Pfanne angebratenes Veggysteak und Zwiebeln hinzufügen. Ich habe dazu Rösti serviert. Die bekommt man im Geschäft neben Pommes im Tiefgekühlten.

This is a traditional French dessert called crème brûlée ( burnt cream). It’s a vanilla based cream. You add sugar on the surface and you caramalize the coating.

Als Nachtisch ein typisch französischer Teil : crème brûlée. Müsste man als verbrannten Pudding übersetzen. Es ist ein cremiger Vanille Pudding. Auf den wird Zucker gestreut, den man dann karamellisiert.

Stuffed zucchini & veggie churros

All vegetarian healthy meal. You need one zucchini per serving. Onions, spice, smashed tomatoes and grated cheese. Carve the zucchini with a spoon. Cut in cubes, cut the onion. Fry all together in olive oil. Add smashed tomatoes and herbs like basil/persil/oregon… Preheat the oven at 160°. Stuff the zucchini with the mixture and add the grated cheese. Put into the oven mid section for about 40 minutes. Bake the deep frozen carrot-potatoe churros. Bon appétit

Samossa potatoes

Stay green – eat vegetarian. There are so many possibilities. You don’t even need a book. Just follow your inspiration.

I baked pre-cooked potatoes with cheese in the oven. I heated some vegetarian samossa and served this with cucumber and a cream topping.

Veggy pizza

Nice vegetarian pizza. So easy yet so tasteful. You can put any vegetables you like on your pizza. I add different spices and lots of cheese.

Vegetarian spaghetti lemon muffin

I’m so happy that it becomes easier to buy ingredients for vegetarian dishes. Shops offer now kits for meatfree dishes. I like the idea of finding a veggy recipe on a sauce box.

Whole wheat spaghetti contain plenty of nutrients. Their color is brown. Cooking time is about 10 minutes.

You can serve a vegetarian dressing using onion, zucchini, pepper and carrots. Fry the veggies in a pan and when they are golden, add 300 ml of water and the spicy mix. Turn until it’s a creamy aspect.

Add cherry tomato and let it heat for another minute.

You can serve with grated mozzarella or tofu based cheese for the vegan version.

I added green salad for the dressing in the plate.

For dessert : lemon buttermilk cupcakes with blue sprinkles.


Vegetarian meals are so tasteful and easy to prepare. Generally when I go shopping I buy a lot of preserved veggies, various deep frozen food and add a variety of sauces. You should always have quinoa, rice, noodles at home.

This is cheese filled puffy pastry with rice and salsify topped with a curry/coconut sauce.

Gnocchi with zucchini

What you need for this vegetarian dish:

  • Gnocchi
  • Tomato sauce
  • Grated cheese
  • Zucchini
  • Onion
  • Olive oil

Prepare the gnocchi. Fry the chopped zucchini and onion.

Put olive oil in an oven ready plate.

Add the tomato sauce.

Add the gnocchi.

Add the fried veggies.

Add the grated cheese …. A ton

Put in the oven for 15 minutes.
